When choosing a facilitator, it’s important to learn about his or her personal, professional and psychedelic background, as well as one’s philosophical approach to guiding people through the psychedelic experience. Once you have this information, it’s easier to decide who resonates with you. Luckily, you can’t go wrong with anyone on the wonderful team we have here at EPIC and Radiant Heart Consulting! In the spirit of conveying this information, here is a little bit about me:
Psychedelic Experience - I have personally had hundreds of psychedelic sessions in a wide variety of settings and for a wide variety of reasons; I’m able to walk my clients through their own journeys because I’ve been there myself. I know the paths and can point people in the right direction when needed. My primary era of experimentation was during college, while I was also working a service job, working in neuroscience labs, maintaining healthy and fulfilling relationships with friends and family, and en route to graduating summa cum laude with multiple majors and departmental honors, which demonstrates my ability to navigate the psychedelic world without getting lost. These days, I do solo high dose sessions 4-6 times a year to stay familiar with the space and continue my own personal growth.
Professional and Personal Background - While I’ve worked in several different fields, the bulk of my work experience has been in psychological neuroscience - including the role of research assistant for a company studying psilocybin! I joined the EPIC/RHC Facilitation Team in October of 2023. I’m originally from Des Moines, Iowa and have always been drawn to caring for others and exploring life’s biggest questions. This has translated to a great deal of reading on topics like psychology, philosophy, metaphysical science, and religion. I’m also an avid meditator, hiker, and musician, which are my favorite activities for maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
Approach to Facilitation - I am a calm, grounding, caring, and knowledgeable “space holder” for clients as they discover answers within themselves using the lens that psilocybin provides. I meet people where they’re at and tailor the experience accordingly. Music is an incredibly important part of a psilocybin session and I consider the curation of the musical experience one of my specialities, which my clients have corroborated. I also think it’s important to stand on the shoulders of giants, so I’m particularly well read on the topic of psychedelic therapy and consider Stanislov Grof to be one of my greatest influences. I spend time getting to know clients, provide them with as much knowledge as I can impart, give them all the genuine care I’m capable of, and help them integrate their experiences in a way that uniquely suits them.
