Johani Askins “Juba”
Culturally Appropriate Facilitator, Community Wellness Coach
Multilingual Musician and Sound Practitioner
Licensed Facilitator
Hello, I am Johani Askins, also known as Juba, a compassionate psychedelic facilitator with a diverse background. My intercultural, multilingual, and multiracial identity, along with ancestral connections to healers from Brazil and the Xokleng-Laklanõ Tribe, informs my belief in the power of diversity, privacy, and continuous consultation to create a safe and supportive space for transformative psychedelic experiences.
Having lived and worked with individuals from diverse economic and minority backgrounds, I deeply understand the importance of aligning one’s values, beliefs, and well-being. Witnessing the challenges faced by individuals from all walks of life, including veterans and those affected by addiction and social discrimination, has strengthened my commitment to upholding integrity, kindness, and truth in my practice.
While my ancestral and cultural influences shape my values, my primary focus is to support individuals in navigating their own autonomous and self-directed experiences. Music is one of the offerings I integrate into my facilitation practice, using composition, singing, and instrumental soundscapes to deepen experiences and foster meaningful connections. My dedication extends to the principles of non-violent communication and fostering inclusivity within the psychedelic community.
I am a strong advocate for BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities, striving to create spaces where individuals of all identities and backgrounds feel valued, respected, and supported. My work is grounded in ethical facilitation, self-reflection, and a commitment to continuous learning. With a strong emphasis on inclusivity, I strive to create a welcoming space where individuals feel supported on their journey toward greater self-awareness and well-being.
I am also BLS & CPR certified through the American Red Cross, reinforcing my commitment to safety, preparedness, and community care.
I look forward to the opportunity to support your journey toward transformation, growth, and well-being.
